Following the example of earlier, highly successful Euroconferences on Rock Physics and Geomechanics (held most recently in Kijkduin, The Netherlands, 2003; Potsdam, Germany, 2004; Oléron, France, 2005; Erice, Italy, 2007; Ascona, Switzerland, 2009; Trondeim, Norway, 2011), the 10th Euroconference on Rock Physics and Rock Mechanics will be in Aussois, France, 12 - 15 May 2014.The general theme of the conference will be "Multi-scale Rock Mechanics and Rock Physics", with the following 8 sessions:

  1. From Fracturing to Friction
  2. Fluid Injection Processes (Fracking, CO2 Sequestration, ...)
  3. Fluid Extraction Processes (Petroleum Engineering, Gas/Shale, ...)
  4. Thermal and Geothermal Processes
  5. Long-term Geological Storage (Nuclear Waste, CO2, Flowback, ...)
  6. Laboratory Rock Mechanics: Imaging Processes and Processing Images
  7. Numerical Modeling through the Scales
  8. Rock Burst, Mining, Tunneling

The actual sessions will begin on Monday (May 12) at 9am. We suggest to get to Aussois the day before. A cold buffet will be served on Sunday (May 11) from 7:30PM to 10PM.
The conference will end on Thursday (May 15) around 7pm. We suggest to stay overnight, and leave on Friday morning.
